At St Christopher’s School Bahrain our mission is to provide an Education for a Shared Humanity. To ensure all our students become Role Models for the World possessing the strength of intellect and character to take responsibility for their actions and contribute meaningfully to our global society.

St Christopher’s strives for the highest possible standards and is continuously looking for better, smarter and more effective ways for young people to learn. This has been consistently recognised over the years through its highly successful British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspections, its inclusion in the Spear’s Index of the Top 100 Schools world-wide, achieving the TES international school award for the most innovative curriculum, and the ISC global impact award for its outreach work in Thailand.

We pride ourselves on maintaining a warm and mutually respectful atmosphere, where our children leave fully prepared and confident to meet head-on the challenges and vagaries of life in our rapidly changing world.

Young Musicians of the Gulf Story

Established in 1998, by St Christopher’s School Bahrain, the Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMOG) has become the hallmark of musical excellence in the region. As we celebrate our 27th anniversary, YMOG continues to inspire and elevate young musicians, providing a platform for them to showcase exceptional talents.

The YMOG Experience

YMOG is not just a competition; it is a celebration of passion, dedication, and the transformative power of music. Each year, participants from schools across the Gulf region come together for four days of intense musical competition, setting the stage for a symphony of creativity and skill.

Hosted by St Christopher's School

The BSME (British Schools in the Middle East) Young Musicians of the Gulf event was originally conceived by St Christopher’s School in 1998 as a celebration of young musical talent within the Gulf, and has since become the most prestigious and high-profile competition in the region. St Christopher’s School is proud to have initiated and played host to an event of such magnitude since its creation, with only the exception of 2013, 2023 and 2025 , that were held in Dubai.

This year, St Christopher’s School is delighted to welcome over 200 performers from 16 schools throughout the Gulf. The young musicians will use this stage to share their considerable talents and the results of many hours of practice through this advanced level music competition.

Young Musicians of the Gulf Vision

At YMOG, we envision a world where every young musician has the opportunity to shine. Our competition goes beyond the stage, encouraging personal and artistic growth, fostering a sense of camaraderie, and creating lasting memories for participants.
