At St Christopher’s School Bahrain our mission is to provide an Education for a Shared Humanity. To ensure all our students become Role Models for the World possessing the strength of intellect and character to take responsibility for their actions and contribute meaningfully to our global society.
St Christopher’s strives for the highest possible standards and is continuously looking for better, smarter and more effective ways for young people to learn. This has been consistently recognised over the years through its highly successful British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspections, its inclusion in the Spear’s Index of the Top 100 Schools world-wide, achieving the TES international school award for the most innovative curriculum, and the ISC global impact award for its outreach work in Thailand.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a warm and mutually respectful atmosphere, where our children leave fully prepared and confident to meet head-on the challenges and vagaries of life in our rapidly changing world.
Established in 1998, by St Christopher’s School Bahrain, the Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMOG) has become the hallmark of musical excellence in the region. As we celebrate our 27th anniversary, YMOG continues to inspire and elevate young musicians, providing a platform for them to showcase exceptional talents.
YMOG is not just a competition; it is a celebration of passion, dedication, and the transformative power of music. Each year, participants from schools across the Gulf region come together for four days of intense musical competition, setting the stage for a symphony of creativity and skill.
At YMOG, we envision a world where every young musician has the opportunity to shine. Our competition goes beyond the stage, encouraging personal and artistic growth, fostering a sense of camaraderie, and creating lasting memories for participants.
Thank you to our prime sponsors this year: the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. The ABRSM deliver over 650000 music exams and assessments every year in 93 countries. St Christopher’s are proud to be a centre for ABRSM exams in Bahrain. We would also like to thank the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel for their generous support of YMOG.
We invite you to explore the rich history of YMOG, discover the stories of past participants, and witness the magic of the 27th-anniversary edition. YMOG is more than an event; it’s a musical journey that transcends boundaries and inspires a lifelong love for music.
